Benefits of Circuit Training for Weight Loss Programs in
Houston
Circuit training is a great system to use for weight loss programs in
Houston. Of course, you have to match the type of program to the goal
of your training. I was training one of my new clients yesterday and
the conversation motivated me to write about it.

Women, if exposed to weight training at all, tend to get experience
through group fitness classes. This area of fitness primarily uses a
ciruit-type training regimen. While there's nothing wrong with this, it
all really depends upon the goal one is trying to accomplish. I'll
outline the reasons for and against circuit training in the next few
paragraphs.

Circuit training is a benefit for weight loss programs in Houston, but
not if you're trying to put on muscle mass. The entire purpose of
circuit training is typically to induce energy expenditure, creating a
metabolic effect.
Many fitness enthusiasts have fat loss as a goal in their weight loss
programs in Houston and therefore this is a good option. This is
especially true with women because they tend to have more difficulty
losing fat due to lower levels of fat-free mass and a different
hormonal profile than male counterparts.
Weight loss programs in Houston typically incorporate a traditional
circuit by performing 6 or more exercises in succession with minimal
rest between sets. This creates a high respiratory rate causing an
increase in energy expenditure. Load selection on each exercise is kept
down due to fatigue levels from minimal recovery. Some people,
especially women, really enjoy this style of training because of the
feelings of fatigue associated with it at the end of the session.
The decreased loading in this style is potentially a bad thing for
those attempting to gain muscle mass. The human body is an extremely
efficient system and will make any modifications it can to improve this
quality. The reduced load for each exercise probably will not provide
the necessary stimulus to gain muscle size.
If you've read about muscle on this website, you understand that it's
the primary indicator of metabolism. You see where I'm going with this?
If using only this type of training in your program, your body may not
be able to utilize enough calories to get the look you're after.
Another thing to consider is the adaptability of the body. All it needs
is 6 weeks or fewer to maximally adapt to a training program. From
there, changes are minimal. Thinking from this point of view would
dictate changing the routine using different movements or incorporating
another style of training.
Does all this make sense now? If you've been using circuit training for
a few months now with minimal success, a different strategy may need to
be implemented. There are many weight loss programs in Houston that can
help you with this. I hope this gives some more insight into program
design. Change up your program at a minimum of every six weeks and you
should start seeing results again.
