Personal Trainers Houston, Injury Rehabilitation and/or
Prehabilitation
Injury rehabilitation/prehabilitation is very important and can be
assisted by Personal Trainers Houston. Sometimes expensive surgeries
and/or treatments can be avoided by selecting appropriate weight
training exercises and incorporating soft tissue work with a foam
roller. Sounds like a good option to me.

Injuries can be caused by a number of things. A
lot of them are due to imbalances placed upon us through daily living.
Like Eric Cressey says, "everything we do is out in front of us". What
happens is all the musculature we don't see, sometimes referred to as
the posterior chain, becomes weak and/or inhibited.
This strength imbalance can lead to injury. A lot of times, it's the
simple stuff we don't think about that leads us down this road. Poor
posture is the perfect example and affects a great deal of office
workers. Something as simple as focusing on sitting up straight can
have a profound effect. Obviously, some things cannot be prevented, but
it's always a good idea to try and minimize it. Not to mention, having
quasimoto posture isn't exactly sexy.

So what do we do to counteract the imbalances associated with daily
living? We train accordingly. There are some isolation movements that
can be prescribed by Personal Trainers Houston to "wake up" unused or
inactive muscle groups to relieve stress in other areas. The Cook Hip
lift is a great movement for "bringing the glutes back to life" and
relieving the low back and knee. Rear delt flies and prone trap raises
are great examples of quality isolation exercises used to fix rounded
shoulders.

Myofascial release is also a
high quality tool to help with this problem. Basically, this term is
defined as the release of knots in the muscle tissue. Having better
"tissue quality" means healthier muscle with better functional ability.
This is essential in our objective to fix the problem and reduce future
risk.
The biggest impact will come from Houston Personal Trainers prescribing
pulling movements. In general, all training programs need to have an
equal volume of pulling to pushing exercises for optimal health and
performance. In our "bench press society" this seems foreign because
every day is bench day, right? What's a pull anyway? Rowing or deadlift
variations will do quite nicely in our quest.
At the end of the day, if we can prevent injuries rather than promote,
we'll be better off. This idea is called "prehab" by many Personal
Trainers Houston and offers the perfect solution to the problem. Now
stop slouching, balance out your program and start using the foam
roller. I know your knees, back and shoulders will thank you for it.
Who knows, you may end up looking better too.
